The Wife and I took the time to install new seats and valves. Unfortunately the seats eventually wear, and no matter how tight you make the handle, it won't stop the leak. Our solution was to pull the unit, remove the seats, and refinish them by passing them over some 500 grit wet and dry atop an old piece of plate glass. This created a magical surface that the new stems love. Using the Dishmaster silicone lube on the threads made it so we can turn on or off the hot/cold faucets with two fingers on the base of the faucet handle! Amazing. Now, we have a dry sink every morning, and there is absolutely no drip, drip, drip.
I believe these faucets are the finest in America and will be purchasing new units in our next home.
These are serviceable and water tight.
Even a child can turn them on or off.
I starting using one of the Dishmaster units in the 1970's and was surprised at how quickly I could clean my dishes.
After living overseas for 10 years, I returned to America and longed for the top of the line kitchen appliances.
Dishmasters were available on Ebay used, so I picked one up and it did not disappoint.
However, now that we are financially stable, and have upgraded our used unit to factory specs I see what the manufacturer had in mind when these units shipped by the thousands in the 50's and 60's.
There are newer more common brands, but I don't see any advantage over the units sold by Dishmaster.
Again, if you are having issues with your rubber washers wearing out after a few months, it is probably the seats and not the seals.
If you replace or recondition your seals, then your sealing rubber washers will wear like iron!
