No Lead? Low-lead? Lead-free? They all mean the same thing, and they refer to the federal "Reduction of Lead in Drinking Water Act" that went into effect in January 2014, meaning plumbing products must have a weighted average lead content of no more than 0.25% on wetted surfaces (and 0.2% for solder/flux), a significant drop from the old 8% limit, allowing minimal trace amounts but ensuring safety for drinking water systems. The terms are used interchangeably because they all point to meeting this new, stricter federal requirement, even though slight lead content is still present.
