I have had my Faucet for many years. I have rebuilt it, repaired it, and updated it. It looks good in my old kitchen. The customer service is great and shipping is quick. Granted, repair parts seem to be expensive but that is to be expected as I'm sure they're not manufacturing tens of thousands at a time. I'm fine with that.
I purchased the 4" taller spout. I wish I had done that years ago. It makes things so much easier when cleaning or filling stock pots. I would like to say it was just this year that I got it but time flies and I think it was last year. I'm not going to take the time to look right now.
Anyway, the diverter was not dropping when the water was turned off. I took it apart to clean. Sometimes this needs to be done just from interaction with the water. I have soft water on the hot side but regular water on the cold.
Upon removal of the diverter, I noticed that one of the small seals at the top was slightly deformed, causing the rod to bind. I suspect that the part was misformed at production rather than improper installation as it isn't too difficult to put the seals in place. I opted to reverse the installation and use some plumbing lubricant. It worked briefly but is not dropping again.
What I'm not happy about is what I have to purchase to repair this. To get the piece at the top of the spring on the rod, I have to buy the diverter assembly which includes the o-ring for the spout to body. It does not include the two seals at the top of the diverter. To get the two seals at the top I have to purchase them with the 0-ring and the lower seal that also come with the diverter assembly. Changing the diverter without replacing those seals at the same time is ludicrous. So, in essence, I have to spend $53 plus tax and shipping to replace a faulty seal. By purchasing both kits with the redundant parts, it allows me to do the job properly so I don't have to do it again. In this case it is a extra $36.40 to get the part at the top of the diverter rod. Also, I will have good duplicate parts, new and used, left over. I will probably never need them. The whole spout is barely $40 more. Why doesn't that part come with the seal kit?
