Hi Tom,
We don't have record of which model faucet you have or how old it is, so we cannot speak to how long your previous tank lasted before you replaced it. We only see your recent order for the single replacement tank in our system.
We also don't know if when your faucet was installed, the installer used the full 4' length of tubing that was supplied and properly routed it under your sink. If the full length is used and it is properly routed so that it doesn't catch on the plumbing under your sink, there really should be plenty of length for the tank to reach up into the sink for refilling.
The PA2018 Detergent Tank Assembly you ordered did not include a new length of tubing. I suggest ordering the PA2085 Detergent Tube Assembly for installation & make sure that it is properly routed and has the recommended overlap of tubes when installed.
If you prefer a longer tube than the 4' provided in that kit, you can liking purchase the 1/4' OD x .170' ID clear vinyl tubing itself by the foot at many local hardware stores. I know our local Ace Hardware carries in a roll of up to 400'. If you choose to go purchase a longer section yourself, please make sure to follow these instructions at the following link for proper installation and overlap. https://dishmasterfaucet.com/pages/k2018-tank-assembly
Thank you
