Nice handle and parts kit. Impossible to use spanner tool to remove ring

My faucet is 20 years old, but we still like it. The handle and ball valve are worn out. The adjusting ring has two shallow notches to apply torque to loosen using the spanner wrench. The ring is too worn to apply enough torque to loosen. The spanner wrench supplied is too flimsey. Some special spaner tool is required

Sorry you had trouble removing the ring. The spanner you received normally works perfectly for that job, but if there's been a leak in that area for some time it may cause a buildup of lime/mineral deposits that keeps the ring from coming loose.

I see that you ordered a new valve retaining cap, which we'll have on the way to you today. Please be sure to note in the instructions (https://dishmasterfaucet.com/pages/ball-valve-m2000) that when removing the old cap If any significant amount of force is required, STOP!... That same buildup of lime/minerals may be keeping the cap from coming off easily and you can cause damage to the faucet if you don't proceed with caution.
